The commencement of production last June has been halted by an actors’ strike, putting a stop to the filming of the series.
Silo, the breakout series of 2023 and the most-watched on the platform, was naturally renewed by Apple TV+ even before the conclusion of the first season last June. However, a joint strike by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA has brought the production of the second season to a standstill.
According to Deadline, the production of new episodes had managed to advance, as all the scripts for Silo’s second season had been completed and refined before the writers’ strike (WGA). Therefore, the filming of Silo’s second season had begun last month in London. A break was scheduled during the summer holidays. However, Deadline reports that the duration of this break is now “indefinite”. In other words, the actors’ strike (SAG-AFTRA) that began on July 13th has thrown the shooting schedule into question, and the producers of Silo do not know when they will be able to resume.
Anticipation is building for the 2024 release of Silo’s second season on Apple TV+. While waiting, fans can delve deeper into the narrative with the free audiobook “Shift (The Silo Saga, Book 2)“, now accessible and offering a unique way to experience the story at no cost with an Audible trial. Additionally, “Dust (The Silo Saga, Book 3)” is also available as a free audiobook, extending the journey into the world of Silo even further.
