Offered a throne she does not want, back among the men she does

The fourth and final volume of the Cursed Legacies series opens with Maven being offered the reward every demigod is supposed to want: a place among the divine, and an eternity of peace. She turns it down, because the peace comes with a condition she will not accept, and she finds her way back to the mortal realm instead, without fully remembering what she did to get there.

What waits for her is a quintet of men who have spent her absence breaking. Restoring them is one problem. The other is the state of the world she left behind, which needs rebuilding more than it needs revenge, and the memory of the choices that put it in that condition, which returns to her slowly and in the wrong order. The novel moves between the men's recovery and the larger campaign, and the group's own instability supplies most of the tension.

It is a five-voice production, one narrator per man, and it runs eighteen hours and twenty-eight minutes. Unabridged, released October 6, 2026.

★★★★★
A finale that pays off the obsession, at some cost in length

Series finales in this genre usually have a problem to solve, which is how to give a group romance a satisfying ending without either killing the appeal or stretching it past its life, and this one solves it by getting the quintet back together early rather than spending the book on separation. That decision is what the listeners keep praising, and it is the right one: the pleasure of a why-choose series is the unit, not the pursuit, and eighteen hours with an established dynamic is far better than eighteen hours of obstacles. The multiple narrators help more than they usually do, because each of the men has a distinct register and the switches land as characterisation rather than as noise.

What the good reviews describe is a book that knows exactly what its listeners came for and delivers it without padding the emotional beats. Maven is powerful, vindictive on behalf of her people and entirely uninterested in being redeemed, and the finale lets her be all three, which is more than most heroines of this kind are allowed. The set pieces that listeners single out are the ones where the group works as a unit against something larger: a celestial trial that turns into a victory lap, the dead arriving on her side, the birds doing something memorably unpleasant to somebody who deserved it. Listeners who arrived at this series from the first book say the author grew noticeably more confident as she went, and that this is the strongest of the four.

The complaints are specific and reasonable. The one that comes up most is length: a listener who loved it still says it was far too long, that too much was going on, and that the same story could have been told in three books rather than four, which for a series that has already run this long is a real caution. A second says the heroine's guilt spirals return to the same ground repeatedly, and that the large action scenes are crowded enough to be hard to follow, with the narrator of one review admitting they had to rewind to work out who had hit whom; the same listener felt the divine-versus-mortal material was the most interesting idea in the book and got rushed at the end, just when it wanted room. I would not put either objection over the praise, but a listener deciding between an eighteen-hour finale and something shorter should know that this one takes its time and that not every hour is essential.

Content notes, and these are the publisher's own: intended for adults, with very strong language, graphic violence, dark themes and explicit sex including group scenes. If that is what you want from the genre, the book does not compromise. If it is not, the Cursed Legacies series is the wrong door to come through, and the site's Psycho Fae is a gentler shifter entry point while The Daddy's Girl is the other long-running dark series on the shelf.

Morgan B Lee Divine Fate Cursed Legacies reverse harem paranormal romance why choose

Divine Fate closes the Cursed Legacies series, whose heroine began it as a demigod raised in hell and ends it being offered a place among the gods, which she declines because accepting would cost her the five men she has bound herself to. It is 18 hrs and 28 mins unabridged, released on October 6, 2026, and it is performed by a cast of five narrators: Cassandra King, Isaac Epinal, Jonathan Waters, Benjamin Sands and Silas Hart.

This is the fourth and final book, so it is not the place to start, and it is adult material by the publisher's own description, with graphic violence and explicit content. Eighteen and a half hours is among the longer running times in this genre, which makes it good value for a single credit on either of the trial offers above, both of which give you one free month and a title that stays in your library afterwards.
