Three years later, nothing went quite as planned
Graduation closed one chapter for Garrett and Hannah, Logan and Grace, Dean and Allie, Tucker and Sabrina. Three years on, the jerseys are gone and real life has moved in. Careers, distance, and the kind of decisions that don't come with a practice run have changed the shape of things, though not necessarily the people at the center of them.
The Legacy brings all four couples back through four separate novellas, each built around a moment that shifts things: a wedding that one half of a couple is nowhere near ready for, an elopement that surprises everyone including the couple, a proposal that arrives at the worst possible time, and a second pregnancy that lands like both a shock and a gift. The haunted doll that passes between stories is the kind of detail that only works if you already love these people, and by book five, you do.
Elle Kennedy closes the Off-Campus series the way it ran from the start: warm, funny, and honest about the gap between what you planned and what you actually got. This is not a return to campus. It is something quieter and, in its own way, more satisfying.

I went in expecting fan service, and I got something more considered than that. The Legacy is not trying to recapture what the first four books did. It is doing something different, checking in on people after the chapter that usually ends the story, and trusting that the reader still cares. I did.
The structure, four novellas under one cover, is the right call. Trying to weave all four couples into a single continuous narrative would have been a mess. Instead, each pair gets their own contained story with its own problem and its own resolution. Logan and Grace's snowstorm segment is the lightest and the most fun. Dean and Allie's is the one with the most tension, and Kennedy earns every bit of the conflict she builds around Allie's reluctance to get married. It does not feel manufactured. It feels like exactly who Allie is.
Tucker and Sabrina's novella is the strongest of the four. The tropical setting is a red herring. What the story is actually about is two people negotiating what comes next when both of their careers pull in different directions. Kennedy gives Sabrina a real professional decision to make, and the fact that Tucker's response to it is to support rather than pressure is the payoff the fourth book set up.
Garrett and Hannah's novella is the most uneven. Hannah keeping a significant secret from Garrett for most of the story generates friction that feels a little forced after everything they have been through. The scenes involving Garrett's father add something real, but it's the thinnest of the four novellas. That said, ending with them was still the right structural choice. They started the series.
On the narration: Zachary Webber and Stella Bloom are new to the series here, replacing the narrators from the first four books, and the transition is smoother than it had any right to be. Webber brings warmth and just enough edge to the male chapters, Bloom handles the tonal shifts between four different female voices without losing each character's particular register. At 8 hours and 43 minutes, the audiobook moves fast, which suits the novella format.

The Legacy by Elle Kennedy brings the Off-Campus series to a close with four novellas following Garrett and Hannah, Logan and Grace, Dean and Allie, and Tucker and Sabrina, three years after Briar University. A wedding, a proposal, an elopement, and a surprise pregnancy: Kennedy spreads the big moments across all four couples and gives each one the space to land properly. It is a quieter book than those before it, and deliberately so.
Take advantage of the free trial, cancellable at any time, and hear Zachary Webber and Stella Bloom carry all eight characters across 8 hours and 43 minutes. Their narration keeps each couple distinct across a format that could easily blur at the edges.
