She's the girl who refuses to bow to royalty
Teal Van Doren made a mistake, and she knows it. In a moment of reckless curiosity, she took something that was never hers, a private contract tied to one of the most powerful families in the Royal Elite world. It was there, so she grabbed it, and now she's reaped the consequences. The man she crossed is Ronan Astor, a self-important, arrogant prince of the elite, a player who thinks he's untouchable and treats everyone else as beneath him.
Ronan has decided Teal needs to learn her place, and he's coming for her with everything he has. But he's made a fatal miscalculation: Teal isn't the kind of girl who cowers. She has plans of her own, and she's more than willing to fight fire with fire. She's determined to bring him down, and she's confident she can, because she's done with letting people like him walk all over her.
What follows is a ruthless game between two people equally set on destroying each other, a clash that grows more intense with every encounter. But as they circle each other, the line between enemy and something far more dangerous begins to blur. Vicious Prince is part of the Royal Elite series and can be listened to on its own, though the world makes more sense if you've read the earlier books.

Vicious Prince gives me everything I love about a good enemies-to-lovers romance: two people who are genuinely trying to destroy each other and failing because they're too drawn together. Teal is a fantastic heroine, not because she's sweet or innocent, but because she has teeth. Taking something that belonged to the most arrogant prince of the elite and then having the nerve to go toe-to-toe with him takes guts, and watching her hold her own against him was incredibly satisfying. Ronan is the infuriating prince you love to hate.
What sets Vicious Prince apart is the balance of power. Teal isn't a damsel waiting to be saved, she's actively scheming right alongside Ronan, and their cat and mouse game is electric. Every move one makes, the other counters, and the tension builds beautifully. The revenge plot gives their relationship a sharp edge, and the way their hatred slowly gives way to something else is written with perfect pacing. Rina Kent knows how to make morally gray characters compelling, and Teal might be one of her best heroines yet.
Ronan is exactly the kind of anti-hero that makes dark romance so addictive: arrogant, possessive, and completely convinced he's in control. Watching Teal get under his skin and unsettle his carefully maintained composure is deeply satisfying. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and their banter crackles with tension. There's a real depth to the story too, with both characters carrying secrets and wounds that make their connection feel earned rather than convenient.
The narration by Shane East and Keira Stevens is, as always, top notch. East gives Ronan that smug, commanding arrogance, while Stevens brings Teal's fierce determination to life. At 9 hours and 14 minutes, it's a tightly paced listen that keeps you engaged from start to finish. If you've read Black Knight, you'll love seeing more of this world, and Vicious Prince stands strong on its own too. This is Rina Kent doing what she does best.
